The Death of a Star
Book Design
Art Direction: Thomas Foley and Jason Ganski
Stars are created from clouds of dust and live until their elements cannot be contained anymore. It is in this moment when their fated end becomes one of the most beautiful moments in space, ultimately starting the cycle over again. The Death of a Star is a book concept and motion piece that illustrates how stars in our universe are born, and how they ultimately end.

Abstracting Reality
This imagery style centers around color blocking and strong geometrics shapes and lines, pulling similarities from the illustration style of many science-fiction book covers and scientific textbooks. The combination of the limited blocked colors and lines bring a futuristic feeling across as the idea of space travel and research is viewed to be the future of humanity. Simplifying the reality of complex events in space to geometric aspects shift the focus of the reader to digest the information while maintaining the beauty of each moment.
